Online Concerts and Events

There isn't much live music at the moment.

However, the importance of the arts remains paramount, and in these uncertain times we take solace from music, drama and theatre. Many cultural organisations around the world are offering their services for free, so you can still experience fantastic music if you are unable to leave the house. Here are some highlights:

Berliner Philharmoniker Digital Concert Hall

The Berlin Phil are giving free access to their digital concert hall. Sign-up required, use the code BERLINPHIL if prompted.

The Metropolitan Opera

Nightly live streams, and on-demand opera. Use the apps for best performance.

Journalist and author Alex Ross is tracking free live performances on his website here.

The Royal Opera House

From 27th March, the Royal Opera has planned free online access to archived performances of four operas and ballets. Tune in via their Facebook or YouTube pages.

  • Peter and the Wolf, The Royal Ballet, 2010 – 27 March 2020, 7pm GMT
  • Acis and Galatea, The Royal Opera, 2009 – 3 April 2020, 7pm BST
  • Così fan tutte, The Royal Opera, 2010 – 10 April 2020, 7pm BST

Third Coast Percussion

The amazing percussion group Third Coast Percussion are live-streaming a number of 'concerts', which are available after broadcast on their YouTube channel.

The London Symphony Orchestra has also made available some concerts and lectures for free. Get involved.

Opera Vision are making available Glyndebourne's version of Die Entführung aus dem Serail until 20th May. Would have been great in particular for Year 13 wider listening. But still a great concert.
